General Laborer will perform all duties assigned by any supervisor such as site preparation, material handling, assisting skilled tradespeople, cleaning up debris, and performing manual labor as needed, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.

• Clean, wash, and general housekeeping and inspection of FKEC fleet vehicles, trailers, property, and substations.
• Rust removal and treatment from metal, including priming and painting vehicles, equipment, and FKEC property.
• Operate lawn mower, weed eater, and general landscaping.
• Herbicide application on FKEC grounds.
• Empty trash bins and general job site clean up.
• Assist with FKEC fence installation and maintenance.

The above responsibilities are a guide and are not all-inclusive for the essential responsibilities of the position.

Marginal Responsibilities:

• Deliver material and vehicles as requested (alternate FKEC facilities or Miami).
• Assemble office furniture.
• Perform other related or assigned duties as requested.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

• Previous maintenance and labor experience is desirable but not required.
• Two (2) years of previous general labor experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of various tools is desirable.
• Should be familiar with or have the ability to learn to operate the essential tools used in the plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical trades. Also familiar with various hand tools, power tools, lawnmowers, etc.
• Must have or be willing to learn forklift operation.

Additional Requirements:

• Must have a valid Florida Driver's License. Class A CDL License preferred.
• Must use cybersecurity best practices and use responsible conduct in online environments and while using email.
• Observe and practice all safety policies and rules.
• Extra hours may be necessary during emergencies or when the workload demands.
• Residency requirement: Worker for this position is not required to live within the FKEC service territory, but it is highly recommended.

Position requires moderate lifting, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, awkward work positions, and exposure to many adverse elements of weather conditions. Other physical demands are the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push pull, lift, grasp, feel, read, and write. Must have the ability to give and receive detailed information through oral and written communication. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme heat, noise, vibration, physical hazards (working on ladders and high places), and atmospheric conditions (fumes, dust, gases, etc.)
