AP and IB Coordinator
Location: North Broward Preparatory School, Coconut Creek, FL
THE SCHOOL

The AP/IB Coordinator is responsible for the administration, development, and oversight of the Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. The coordinator ensures that students and faculty receive the support, resources, and guidance necessary to maintain high academic standards within these programs. This role also involves liaising with external organizations, managing assessments, and supporting college readiness initiatives.
The AP/IB Coordinator reports directly to the High School Assistant Principal.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Program Administration & Compliance
- Oversee the implementation and administration of the AP and IB programs, ensuring alignment with their respective guidelines and standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison with College Board and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), ensuring compliance with policies and best practices.
- Annual data analysis presented to Nord Anglia
Faculty & Curriculum Support
- Support AP and IB faculty by facilitating professional development opportunities, providing instructional resources, and ensuring adherence to curriculum frameworks.
- Collaborate with department chairs and academic leadership to align course offerings with student needs.
Assessment & Scheduling
- Manage all aspects of AP and IB assessments, including registration, logistics, accommodations, and results analysis.
- Lead efforts in scheduling AP and IB courses in coordination with department chairs and the academic leadership team.
Student & Parent Engagement
- Coordinate with the Director of College Advising to support students in AP and IB course selections, ensuring a pathway to post-secondary success.
- Organize and lead parent and student informational meetings regarding AP and IB program requirements, benefits, and expectations.
IB Core & Extended Programs
- Oversee and support the IB Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) programs ensuring compliance with IB standards.
- Manage and support the IB student board, fostering leadership opportunities and student engagement within the IB program.
- Organize yearly CAS trips and IB core program experiences.
- Facilitate Pamoja online learning experience for students as needed.
Marketing & Admissions
- Work with the marketing team to create promotional materials and increase awareness of the AP and IB programs.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to review applications and assess student readiness for AP and IB coursework.
Operations & Budget Management
- Monitor and manage the AP and IB program budgets, including ordering necessary materials and other instructional resources.
- Participate in weekly academic leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning for AP and IB program growth and improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in teaching or leadership roles within AP and/or IB programs.
Skills & Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of AP and IB curriculum, assessment policies, and instructional best practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, parents, faculty, and external organizations.
- Experience in academic advising, scheduling, and student support services.
