This is a Full Time Year Round Position
The schedule for this position is as follows:
Traffic Safety Officer (four 10 hour sifts)
Duties and Responsibilities
Beach Patrol:
- Duties of a Security Officer AND
- Physical patrol of the beach area of Sandestin that is available to all membership and their guests
- Respond to emergencies and assist as needed
- Monitor activities on the beach with an emphasis on inappropriate behavior and violations of the SOA's Beach Conduct Rue
- Coordinate with law enforcement when needed
- Investigate crimes only to the level approved by the law
- Provide first response as needed
- Assist with crowd control
Property Services:
- Control access to property.
- Patrol property: residential, commercial and perimeter access.
- Investigate crimes as well as incidents that occur on property.
Owner and Guest Assistance:
- First Responders for Fires, Medical problems, Accidents – personal and vehicle crashes, reports of criminal activity.
- At owners request assist by contacting the proper agencies as to power outages, phone and problems.
- Safety observations and inspections.
- Assist with Traffic and speed control.
- Assist with animal control, both domestic and wild.
- Conduct accident investigations (i.e. auto and personal).
- Provide medical assistance (i.e. First aid, contacting 911, reports, etc.).
- Unlock non rental and rental units when requested by owners, guests, VIC Center, etc.
- Watch for security violations and situations.
- Conduct security checks on all offices and retail outlets during and after hours and on weekends. Also, conduct security checks on homeowners’ units when they are away at their request.
- Investigate fire alarms in public buildings and private residences.
- Answer noise complaints from owners and guests.
- Find and identify water leaks and report to Ground Maintenance, landscape companies and/or public utility companies.
- Provide special security for VIPs.
- Provide support to local law enforcement, fire & EMS.
- Assist in serving eviction notices.
- Provide natural disaster support (i.e. hurricanes, tornados, etc.).
Gate Attendant Duties:
- Control and validate access to Sandestin properties.
- Issue and verify vehicles’ passes and decals.
- Maintain all logs associated with controlling entry.
- Provide accurate information to guests, visitors, owners and employees as necessary.
- Produce reports congruous with duties being performed paying close attention to detail.
- Is consistently at work on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write reports, and comprehend procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software and internet software.
- Valid driver license.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- You must be legal to work in the United States.
- Must be able to obtain CPR Certification
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment MVR, Background Check and Drug Screen.
Must have weekend and holiday availability.
