Job Title:Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
Department:Clinical
Reports To:Director of Rehabilitation

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to provide, direct, and supervise all aspects of quality patient care in our rehabilitation department. The SLP will be responsible for screening, evaluating, and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders, developing treatment plans, setting goals, educating families, and maintaining thorough documentation to ensure the best possible patient outcomes. This role requires compliance with federal, state, and organizational guidelines and active participation in interdisciplinary collaboration and quality assurance activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient screenings, evaluations, and assessments to diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs and benefit coverage.
  • Participate in care planning meetings, rehab meetings, and family education sessions.
  • Educate staff, patients, and families on therapy goals and intervention outcomes.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation including daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Provide in-service training and educational presentations to enhance team clinical knowledge.
  • Maintain current state licensure, certification, and comply with all safety regulations.
  • Submit billing, payroll, and expense documentation on time.
  • Facilitate referrals to other rehabilitation team members as appropriate.
  • Attend continuing education to stay current with best practices and new techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.


Education and Experience:

  • Master of Science in Speech/Language Pathology required.
  • State licensure or certification and CPR certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience preferred, especially in residential, assisted living, or skilled nursing settings.
  • Candidates completing Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) will be considered.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Able to lift over 50 pounds with assistance as needed.
  • Ability to sit and walk for extended periods.
  • Able to travel by car or plane as necessary.
  • Capable of bending, squatting, pushing, stooping, and pulling to provide patient care.
  • Must meet facility health requirements including physical examination.
