Job DescriptionABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders.  PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research.

We are seeking compassionate, non-judgmental, and highly empathic individuals to join our specialized medical team as an APRN at Operation PAR’s Medication Assisted Patient Services (MAPS) program on our NEW Mobile Unit within the community. JOB SUMMARY AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

This position practices clinical care delivery under the guidelines of the State Board of Nursing per physician protocol. Responsible for the assessment, treatment planning implementation and follow-up of referred patients. Must have a reliable vehicle to be able to travel to local jails and mobile MAT unit locations.


  • Coordinates all medical admissions and performs physical examinations.
  • Performs initial psychological screening and makes treatment recommendations.
  • Maintains high standard of clinical documentation according to charting process.
  • Coordinates the ongoing medical and psychological services provided.
  • Maintains oversight of resident pharmacy needs.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled supervision meetings with Medical Director and Program Physician.
  • Acts as an integral part of multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provides face to face interviews as requested.
  • Manages patient care within the guidelines of safe and cost effective measures.
  • Maintains clear and safe driving record
  • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Knowledge of theory and directed clinical experience in comprehensive physical and bio-psycho-social assessment
  • Knowledge of interviewing and communication skills
  • Knowledge of health care delivery systems
  • Knowledge of community resources and referrals to appropriate professionals or agencies
  • Knowledge of pharmacology to include the initiation, selection, and the modification of selected drug regimen
  • Ability to interpret laboratory findings
  • Ability to elicit, record and maintain a health history

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Master’s Degree in Psychiatric, Family or Adult Health Nursing
  • Four (4) years of supervised clinical nursing work preferred
  • Addiction and/or mental health experience preferred

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • Current Florida license as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • DEA License preferred
  • DATA 2000 Waiver preferred

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to write accurately and legibly
  • Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computers
  • Ability to accurately type at least 40 words per minute.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time

• Ability to bend, stoop and reach

• Ability to sit in meetings for extended periods of time

  • Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors

• Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds

• Good hearing and vision

• Ability to drive mobile unit

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Treatment program / mobile treatment facility / county jail environment
  • Exposure to possible verbal abuse and similar behavior
  • Possible exposure to patients with communicable diseases
  • Willingness to work in multiple counties as a part of a mobile MAT unit


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must pass a level II background check and drug screen.
