The front desk receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience. This role is responsible for greeting patients, managing front desk, coordinating appointments, handling patient records, and supporting the dental team with administrative needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients in a friendly, professional manner
- Answer and direct phone calls promptly
- Schedule, confirm, and update patient appointments using practice management software
- Manage check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance and collecting payments
- Handle insurance verification, authorizations and coordination of benefits
- Maintain a clean, organized presentable reception area
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
- Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry and photocopying
- Uphold confidentiality and follow company policies and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
- Previous experience in a dental office preferred
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or relevant software
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (ex. Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive information
