POSITION PURPOSE:
To supervise and coordinate activities of guard force of the Community Health of South Florida, Inc. Conducts necessary investigation in thefts and irregularities and insures the integrity of safety of staff and visitors. Assigns personnel to posts or patrol, and indicated protection requirements.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in a Behavior Science or Law Enforcement discipline, or three- (3) year’s experience in Law Enforcement or Security, one of which was in a supervisory capacity. Course or Seminar in Investigation or Law Enforcement.
Licensure / Certification:
Eligible for the State of Florida licensing requirements for Security Guards. CPR Certification from the American Heart Association. Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License.
Skills / Ability:
Ability to plan assigns and supervises the work of security staff in a manner conducive to effective performance. Knowledge of County, State and Federal Regulations and Laws relative to safety, fire and security.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (THIS IS A EXEMPT POSITION)
The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the Chief of Security and the Executive Vice President/COO.
Assist the Chief of Security in developing, implementing and directing all CHI Security related activities.
Assist the Chief of Security addressing all security issues concerning patients, visitors, staff and property.
Investigate all CHI security incidents involving patients, visitors, staff and property for all the off sites.
Provide identification badges for all CHI staff and visitors.
Maintain a key log system for all of the off sites to ensure that all room keys are accounted for.
Provide a security orientation and education program for staff.
Assist in ensuing procedures are implemented to handle civil disturbances and other designated disasters.
Assist in ensuring procedures are in place to handle bomb threats and hostage situations.
Assist the Safety and Risk Manager Officers and the Chief of Security in ensuring a secure and safe environment for staff, patients, visitors and equipment at all CHI facilities.
May act as Mental Health Technician in extreme cases or when needed in the Crisis Stabilization Unit.
Assist the Chief of Security and Safety Officer in identifying safety hazards and violations.
Provide parking authorization and traffic control at all CHI facilities.
Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism.
Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations
Assist the Chief of Security in maintaining the live scan fingerprinting operating system.
Assume the responsibility of all security operations in the absence of the Chief of Security.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief of Security and the Executive Vice President/COO.
