Position: Nurse Practitioner
Reports To: Chief Medical Officer
Employment Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday through Friday with weekend coverage as needed

Position Overview
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive, patient-centered primary healthcare services to homeless and medically underserved individuals and families served by Orange Blossom Family Health (OBFH). This role supports the organization’s mission by ensuring access to high-quality, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care across fixed-site clinics, mobile medical units, and community outreach settings throughout Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties.
Direct Patient Care
- Provide high-quality, comprehensive primary care services, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Deliver trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care to homeless, uninsured, and underinsured populations.
- Perform preventive care services, health screenings, and chronic disease management in alignment with evidence-based guidelines.
- Prioritize and complete time-sensitive follow-up care to prevent lapses in critical patient treatment.
- Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice and organizational protocols.
Community Outreach & Mobile Services
- Participate in mobile medical unit operations and community-based clinical services.
- Adapt clinical practice to varied care settings while maintaining consistent quality and safety standards.
- Support population health initiatives, care coordination, and outreach efforts targeting high-risk and vulnerable populations.
Clinical Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in accordance with organizational standards.
- Review and manage laboratory results, diagnostic studies, referrals, and medication refill requests.
- Collaborate with care coordination staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HRSA, FTCA, and all applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations.
Quality Improvement & Professional Development
- Participate actively in peer review processes and Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives
- Contribute to quality metrics achievement and clinical outcome improvements
- Practice cost-effective healthcare that supports organizational sustainability while ensuring medical appropriateness
- Serve as a clinical preceptor for students from academic partner institutions
- Engage in continuing education and professional development activities
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, behavioral health therapists, and support staff
- Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to healthcare team members
- Demonstrate exceptional professionalism through respect, compassion, integrity, and responsive communication
- Support organizational policies, procedures, and performance standards
- Participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned by leadership
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certification
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Florida
- Eligibility for Medicaid/Medicare provider enrollment
- Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS preferred
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 years of experience in primary care or urgent care settings
- Demonstrated experience in fast-paced healthcare environments with proven adaptability
- Background working with homeless, underserved, or vulnerable populations preferred
- Strong clinical decision-making abilities and comfort working independently
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills for coverage-based practice
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record systems

- Experience with mobile healthcare delivery models
- Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner certification

- Experience with quality improvement initiatives
