Fitness Manager
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Fitness Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fitness program, including personal training, group fitness, fitness programming and member engagement. This role ensures high levels of customer service, maintains a clean and safe environment, manages a team of fitness professionals, and may be responsible for driving revenue through personal training and wellness programs. This is a fully in-person position in Miami, FL in the Miami airport area, with responsibility to oversee 3 locations. The work days are Monday-Friday (no weekend work).
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision:
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise personal trainers and group fitness instructors at 3 separate locations.
- Schedule and manage staff to ensure proper coverage and high-quality service.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and ongoing training
Program Management:
- Develop and implement fitness programs, wellness initiatives, and challenges.
- Oversee group fitness schedules and ensure classes meet member needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs.
- Drive personal training and fitness program sales to meet monthly and annual revenue targets.
- Track performance metrics and report on KPIs.
Customer Service:
- Ensure exceptional service by addressing member concerns promptly and professionally.
- Promote a positive and motivating environment for members and staff.
- Conduct fitness consultations and assessments as needed.
Facility Oversight:
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper equipment functionality.
- Enforce gym policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field preferred OR nationally recognized personal training certification accredited by NCCA (e.g., NASM, AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NCSF, NCCPT).
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in fitness management or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record in fitness program development.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Active participation in fitness activities and demonstrations.
- Ability to stand, walk, and be physically active for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000 annually plus personal training commissions
