Quality Inspector – Aerospace Components (2nd Shift)


Position Summary

The Quality Inspector will perform product conformance audits to ensure aerospace parts meet design and quality requirements. This role is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, verifying certifications for outgoing orders, reviewing special processing requirements, and identifying non‐conformances. The ideal candidate is detail‐oriented, experienced in QA best practices, and comfortable working with precision inspection tools in an aerospace environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine product inspections to verify conformance to engineering drawings and design requirements
  • Inspect incoming parts/materials and outgoing orders to ensure correct certification and documentation
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and support ongoing quality audits and surveillance activities
  • Identify, document, and control non‐conforming material; perform preliminary review and disposition
  • Provide objective evidence of inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
  • Review certification documentation to ensure compliance with customer and quality requirements
  • Use precision measurement tools daily (micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators, indicators, etc.)
  • Identify repetitive or significant non‐conformances and initiate corrective action requests
  • Support customer product and process verification reviews as needed
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to members of the Inspection team


Must‐Have Qualifications

  • Experience inspecting small components (nuts, bolts, screws, gears, etc.)
  • Hands‐on experience with quality inspection tools, including:
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Ring and pin gauges
  • Comparators
  • Experience with QA inspection methods, including First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
  • Familiarity with dimensional and visual inspections per design records and AQL levels
  • Ability to review and disposition certification documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel


Nice‐to‐Have Qualifications

  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards
  • Experience with AS9102 (First Article Inspection Reports)


Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • Compensation: Overtime paid for Sunday shifts and additional OT opportunities available during the week
