Commercial Welder Job Description
- Core Duties: Use various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Flux-Cored, Stick) to fuse metal components, cut, grind, and fit metal pieces according to specifications, and repair existing structures.
- Tasks: Read blueprints/schematics, select appropriate equipment, prepare surfaces, maintain weld quality, inspect work for defects, and adhere to strict safety protocols.
- Environment: Work in construction sites, manufacturing plants, shipyards, or industrial facilities, often requiring physical stamina, working with heavy equipment, and sometimes in challenging conditions.
- Key Skills: Proficiency in different welding techniques, blueprint reading, blueprint reading, cutting (plasma, torch), problem-solving, and physical dexterity.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25-$30 per hour, DOE
Pay Transparency: A reasonable estimate of the available hourly pay scale for this position is $25 to $30 per hour. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors essential to the performance of duties and is determined by the hiring authority.
