Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer – Industrial Automation & System Integration | Orlando, FL | W2 Only
Location: Orlando, FL | Onsite | U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only
Salary: $110K–$140K + Bonus + ESOP
About the Role:
Join a 100% employee-owned engineering firm as a Senior Controls Engineer in Orlando, FL. Lead the design, programming, and integration of industrial automation and control systems across manufacturing and entertainment projects. You'll work hands-on with PLC programming, electrical panel design, system startup, and commissioning, supporting projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement control systems from scratch, including hardware, software, and network integration.
- Program PLCs (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens) using Ladder Logic and Structured Text.
- Create electrical panels, perform power calculations, and optimize system layout.
- Troubleshoot and commission complex control systems onsite.
- Develop detailed documentation: system design, software logic, panel schematics, network layouts, and maintenance plans.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams, vendors, and clients to ensure safety, compliance, and functionality.
- Support safety-critical and regulated projects (ASTM, SIL/PL concepts) where applicable.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of hands-on controls/automation engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related field with direct controls experience).
- Proven experience with PLC programming, industrial automation hardware, and field device integration.
- Experience with AutoCAD for controls documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning skills.
- Comfortable working onsite, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and traveling up to 30% (typically 10%).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in safety-critical environments, attractions, or manufacturing automation.
- Knowledge of multiple PLC languages (Structured Text, Ladder Logic).
- Experience with electrical panel design, networked I/O systems, and safety engineering.
