Working within an interdisciplinary team, Primary Counselors act as key player in a patient’s recovery journey, helping them to remove barriers that prevent them from finding a path leading to healing and freedom. Our patients present with a variety of co-occurring disorders. Primary Counselors treat patients individually, addressing the particular clinical needs of each while integrating services provided by other members of the treatment team. In addition to conducting assessments and creating treatment plans, Primary Counselors facilitate individual and group therapy, teach psychoeducational material, and work with patients’ families all to support an integrated approach to co-occurring disorder treatment.
This position is ideal for individuals interested in a stable substance use treatment setting with opportunity for ongoing supervision and training. Our clinical team utilizes a variety of best practice and holistic approaches including 12 step facilitation, EMDR, trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodrama.
The shift for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
The Qualifications
- LCSW and/or Master’s Level clinicians such as LMHC or LMFT strongly preferred
- Professional treatment experience in a residential facility setting required
- Trauma training and/or certification a huge plus
- Strong documentation skills (KIPU)
- Open minded to all forms of recovery required
