Job Description
This position is contingent on the award for a project in FDOT District 4.
As an employee of DCS AM, you will need to have an eye for detail, all while using your skills and expertise to uphold our company’s morals and principles. The perfect applicant is a seasoned and highly motivated manager that will oversee the Technicians and Lead Technicians that perform day-to-day roadway-related operations to ensure the contract requirements are met in a safe, dependable, and cost-effective manner as directed by the the Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Promote a positive safety culture by requiring full compliance of the project team members and subcontractors to adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the investigation and reporting of accidents, injuries, claims, and stop-work requests.
- Coordinate, conduct, and /or participate in project-level safety training, committee activities, worksite assessments, toolbox talks, etc.
- Identify maintenance needs in a defined geographic area.
- Plan and prepare daily and weekly work plans to ensure customer service complaints and repairs are completed within the timeliness set forth in the contract.
- Plan and prepare daily and weekly work plans to ensure maintenance of roads meets MRP (Maintenance Rating Program) standards and pass quarterly MRP inspections.
- Perform asset condition assessments and inspections (such as cable barrier, guardrail, pavement, signage, vegetation, etc.).
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of, and train technicians on: Contract Scope of Services, Contract Performance Criteria, Contract Timeliness Criteria, FDOT Maintenance Specifications and Special Provisions, FDOT Design Standards and associated penalties for non-performance.
- Ensure work performance is within compliance of contractual, federal, state, and local legal requirements.
- Execute the project’s operational plan in a well-organized manner to meet and /or exceed the contractual obligations.
- Ensure Technicians are actively performing duties and responsibilities at optimal performance levels.
- Assist with scheduling subcontractor operations work to be performed.
- Inspect in-progress and work completed in-house and subcontractor operations to ensure contractual compliance.
- Responsible for the proper management and inventory of materials and supplies on trucks and warehouse.
- Ensure proper cleaning and preventative maintenance of all manager and technician's vehicles and equipment.
- Be available for manager on call rotations for emergency response.
- Seek methods to continually improve processes and procedures for cost-effectiveness and performance efficiency.
- Ensure complete, accurate, and timely submission of all assigned daily work, inspection, timekeeping, and reporting documentation as well as all assigned subordinates.
- Responsible for the proper management, preventative maintenance, and repair of trucks and equipment.
- Maintain positive working relationships with the customer, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Promote a strong customer service culture among the project team members.
- Focus on the Technicians professional development in the fields of, but not limited to, technical ability, quality, customer service, and safety.
- Seek methods to continually improve workplace safety.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- An associate degree or higher is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a valid Driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving
- Must have 1-2 years of previous management or supervisory experience; infrastructure industry is preferred.
- Must have experience with MS office Software including Microsoft excel, outlook and word.
- Must have proficient knowledge in the use of manual powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas and electronic powered tolls and operating equipment.
- Must be able to comply with the company drug and alcohol policy.
- Advance Maintenance of Traffic preferred.
- NPDES Stormwater Illicit Discharge, Detection, and Elimination Training preferred.
- First Aid and CPR Certified preferred.
