Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to lead a classroom with diverse learning needs and exceptionalities. The position is full-time, approximately 35 hours per week, supporting elementary-aged students in a self-contained environment within a school located in Jacksonville, FL. The assignment runs from January 5, 2026, through May 28, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to students with varied exceptionalities in an elementary self-contained setting.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement strategies to meet student objectives.
- Collaborate with general education staff, families, and support personnel to foster an inclusive educational environment.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed to support growth and development.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with district and state regulations.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Special Education certification.
- Valid Florida certification in Elementary Education (K-6) or Early Childhood Education (PK-3).
- Experience working with elementary students in a special education setting.
- Ability to manage a classroom with varying learning levels and exceptionalities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
