Position: General Manager (P&L Owner) – HVAC


The General Manager will serve as the Chief Operating Leader for M&S Air Conditioning's South Florida operations, holding full P&L responsibility for all aspects of the business, including Residential and Commercial HVAC Service, Maintenance, and Installation.

This role demands a visionary leader capable of driving profitable growth, optimizing operational efficiencies, and building a world-class team culture focused on Alignment, Integrity, People Development, and Excellence.


Salary: Target Total Compensation $90,000 – $115,000+ (Competitive Base Salary + Aggressive Performance Bonus)


Key Responsibilities: Three Pillars of Leadership
1. Strategic & Financial Leadership (P&L Ownership)

  • P&L Management: Own and drive the business unit’s full financial performance, including revenue targets, cost management, and margin expansion specifically within the HVAC service and installation departments.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive annual and long-term strategic plans to expand market share and optimize HVAC service delivery throughout Palm Beach and Broward counties.
  • Performance Reporting: Deliver regular, insightful financial and operational reports to Senior Leadership, making data-driven decisions to continuously enhance efficiency and profitability.

2. Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Process Optimization: Oversee and standardize day-to-day operations across all departments (Service, Install, Maintenance, and Office/Dispatch), implementing robust policies and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity, and quality control.
  • HVAC Quality Control: Ensure all service, repair, and installation projects adhere strictly to manufacturer specifications, current building codes, and company best practices.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee strict adherence to all local, state, and federal industry standards, licensing requirements, and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA Section 608) specifically related to HVAC operations.

3. Team Leadership & Cultural Development

  • Talent Acquisition & Development: Hire, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of HVAC Service Managers, Install Managers, and Field Technicians. Drive robust succession planning and technical development programs.
  • Culture Builder: Cultivate a positive, collaborative, and high-accountability work environment where technicians and staff are motivated to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Customer Advocacy: Set and enforce the highest standards for customer satisfaction (CSAT) and service quality, ensuring the M&S brand maintains its reputation for excellence in the South Florida market.

Qualifications for Success

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive managerial experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership or General Manager role with proven P&L responsibility. Extensive experience within the HVAC industry is preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field required. An advanced degree (MBA) is a strong asset.
  • Licensing & Certification: Holding a relevant EPA Certification and a Florida State/Local Master HVAC or Contractor's License (or ability to obtain one) is highly preferred.
  • Leadership Acumen: Demonstrated ability to lead managers, inspire multi-disciplinary teams, and effectively communicate a clear vision across all organizational levels.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with service management software (e.g., ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro) and CRM/ERP systems.
