Job Description
My client is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent with strong structural experience to oversee multifamily and residential construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing ground-up builds, structural framing, and complex site logistics. This role is responsible for coordinating all on-site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence from foundation through final turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site construction efforts with a focus on structural integrity and quality control
- Manage daily operations including subcontractor coordination, inspections, and progress tracking
- Oversee structural components such as foundations, framing, concrete, steel, and load-bearing systems
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings to guide field execution
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and local building codes
- Maintain and update project schedules, identifying and resolving delays proactively
- Conduct regular site walkthroughs to monitor workmanship and adherence to plans
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison between project management, trades, and inspectors
- Document daily reports, RFIs, change orders, and punch lists
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and city officials to ensure smooth project delivery
Qualifications
- Minimum 7–10 years of superintendent experience in residential or multifamily construction
- Strong background in structural systems including wood frame, concrete, and steel construction
- High school diploma required; degree in construction management or related field preferred
- Familiarity with local building codes and permitting processes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in construction software
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
