Job Title: Upfitter - Shop Tech
Job Description
As an Upfitter - Shop Tech, you will play a pivotal role in outfitting emergency and government vehicles. Your primary focus will be on the installation of emergency vehicle lighting and electrical systems, as well as the assembly of vehicle accessories and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install and upfit emergency and government vehicles, focusing 80% on lighting and 12-volt systems.
- Run wires, take apart and reassemble headlights, taillights, and interior body components.
- Install cages, partitions in police vehicles, and push bumpers on fire trucks, constituting 20% of the job.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Understand and work with 12-volt systems, including breakers, circuits, and fuses.
- Utilize hand and power tools effectively for mechanical and electrical assembly.
Essential Skills
- Experience with 12-volt systems, including wiring and installation.
- Ability to disassemble and reassemble vehicles.
- Knowledge and understanding of electronics, particularly in vehicles.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints.
- Competence in using hand and power tools for mechanical assembly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in vehicle upfitting and outfitting.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with automotive assembly.
- Any welding experience is preferred.
- Experience wiring accessories on vehicles.
- Physical capability to perform tasks that involve bending and squatting.

Work Environment
Work hours are from 6 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Thursday, with potential for 5-10 hours of overtime. The position involves working in an open bay shop environment. Employees must provide their own tools. Pay ranges from $19-22/hr

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
