Job DescriptionHiring a certified Medical Assistant for a CardioVascular office.

This is a contract to hire role for our Winter Park office.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care. Experience with e-clinical (electronic clinical) systems is essential for this position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone, ensuring a positive patient experience

  • Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and assisting with procedures

  • Accurately document patient information using e-clinical systems (such as eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar EMRs)

  • Schedule patient appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate follow-up care

  • Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures

  • Maintain examination rooms, including cleaning, stocking supplies, and sterilizing instruments

  • Process laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests

  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing patient records

  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and office policies

  • Provide patient education and answer basic questions regarding medications, procedures, and care instructions


Office hours 9:30AM to 3:30PM


Monday to Friday schedule






Requirements


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) highly desirable

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office or clinical setting

  • Proven experience with e-clinical systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Epic, or other EMRs) is required

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills

  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures

  • CPR/BLS certification preferred
