- Mid: $125,700 - $143,700
- Maximum: $143,700 - $160,232

About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Facilities Management to provide operational leadership for our hospital's physical plant and support services. This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, efficient, and healing environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. The successful candidate will direct the daily operations of Facilities Maintenance, Biomedical Engineering, and Environmental Services, managing budgets, capital projects, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall strategic direction and daily operational management for the Facilities Management, Biomedical Engineering, and Environmental Services departments.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers, supervisors, technicians, and support staff.
- Ensure 100% compliance with all Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA, NFPA, Life Safety, and federal/state/local regulations governing the healthcare physical environment.
- Develop, administer, and control annual operating and capital budgets. Identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency initiatives.
- Plan, oversee, and execute minor and major construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects from conception to completion.
- Develop and maintain a robust preventive and predictive maintenance program for all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, emergency power) and critical infrastructure.
- Ensure the Environmental Services department meets the highest standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and patient satisfaction.
- Oversee the Biomedical Engineering program for the maintenance, repair, and safety of clinical equipment.
- Serve as a primary leader for facility emergency preparedness and management (e.g., disasters, weather events, system failures).
- Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and negotiations.
- Champion and implement energy conservation and sustainability programs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Master’s degree or relevant advanced certification is preferred.
- Experience:
-
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in facilities management, engineering, or plant operations.
- Previous healthcare or hospital facilities management experience is required.
- Proven experience in managing multi-departmental budgets and capital projects.
Licenses/Certifications (Preferred):

- Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) strongly preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
Required Skills:

- Expert knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards (TJC, NFPA, OSHA, CMS).
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
