General Description:
We are seeking a hands on, creative, and highly effective Mechanical Engineer to join our Rapid R&D Team. This team operates in a fast paced, Scrum driven environment, focused on quickly developing, iterating, and validating new product concepts and existing product line enhancements. The ideal candidate is energized by problem solving, cross functional collaboration, and delivering high quality designs that transition seamlessly into engineering and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Develop 3D mechanical designs, assemblies, and fabrication drawings using Autodesk InventorPerform mechanical analysis, tolerance stack ups, material selection, and feasibility assessmentsUse FEA to evaluate and optimize designsDevelop engineering calculations for mechanical mechanisms and water treatment processes. Mechanical statics and fluid calculations.Collaborate closely with product management, in house production teams, and project engineering to deliver prototypes and design standards.Support Agile Scrum processes, including sprint planning, daily standups, and sprint reviews.Build and test prototypes, create test plans, and document results in a report.Work with estimators or suppliers directly to get costing information or source test equipmentProvide DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) guidance to ensure smooth transition into productionSupport root cause analysis and implement design improvements based on test results and field feedbackContribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Rapid R&D process
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field3–5+ years of mechanical design experience
Experience
Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (3D modeling, assemblies, drawings)Demonstrated experience with mechanical systems, mechanisms, structures, or fluid componentsHands on prototyping and testing experienceExperience working with manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, plastics, or assembly operationsAbility to thrive in a fast moving, iterative development environmentStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within cross functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an Agile Scrum environmentKnowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and industry standardsExperience with rapid prototyping tools (3D printing, CNC, etc.)Proficiency in FEA analysis, specifically Autodesk NastranKnowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication
