Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time teaching opportunity is available for an experienced educator specialized in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education within a K-12 school setting in Punta Gorda, FL. This contract position spans the full 2025/2026 school year, focusing on supporting students with hearing impairments through tailored instructional strategies and inclusive classroom practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver prehensive instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across K-12 grade levels.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs.
- Utilize specialized munication techniques, technologies, and support services.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and support staff to enhance student learning experiences.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to achieve educational goals.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
- Proven experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Strong knowledge of audiology, language development, and assistive technologies.
- Ability to create accessible learning materials and acmodate diverse learning needs.
- Excellent munication and collaboration skills.
