Position Summary
The Apartment Leasing Consultant is responsible for generating and closing leads, leasing apartments, and delivering excellent customer service to prospective and current residents. This role supports occupancy and revenue goals while assisting with daily leasing office operations and ensuring compliance with Fair Housing laws and company policies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Greet and assist prospective residents in person, by phone, email, and online platforms
- Conduct professional tours of apartment homes and community amenities
- Qualify prospects by identifying needs, budget, and move-in timelines
- Present pricing, availability, lease terms, and community policies clearly
- Follow up with prospects through calls, emails, and CRM systems to close leases
- Process rental applications, background checks, and lease documentation accurately
- Collect application fees, deposits, and move-in funds
- Assist with resident move-ins, move-outs, lease renewals, and transfers
- Address resident questions and concerns and coordinate service requests with maintenance
- Maintain leasing office appearance, model units, and marketing materials
- Update availability, pricing, traffic, and resident information in property management software
- Support marketing and outreach efforts, including online listings and resident events
- Adhere strictly to Fair Housing laws, company policies, and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Previous multifamily leasing experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Sales-driven mindset with the ability to close leases
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with computers and willingness to learn leasing software
- Professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude
Work Schedule & Physical Requirements
- Full-time position
- Weekend and occasional evening availability required
- Ability to walk the community and conduct tours indoors and outdoors
