POSITION SUMMARY
The Analyst, Ambulatory/Practice Management and Portal Support, will play a key role in the implementation, support, and optimization of MEDITECH Ambulatory applications and the patient portal. This individual will collaborate with hospital IT teams, ambulatory care providers, and administrative stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration, effective user adoption, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
The Analyst will also contribute to the development of Healthcare Systems of America's corporate Ambulatory IT strategy by gathering current-state workflows and system requirements. They will help ensure that all ambulatory practice needs-including scheduling, patient records, documentation, charting, order management, and system interoperability-are addressed through a cohesive and scalable solution.
Additionally, this position will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and deployment of Healthcare Systems of America's Patient Portal platform, promoting digital engagement and patient access to care.
** This is a fully remote position with minimal travel required for production deployment events and periodic training sessions or meetings. **
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to strategic planning for HSA's ambulatory platforms, ensuring alignment with the organization's clinical, operational, and digital engagement goals.
- Configure, deploy, and optimize MEDITECH Ambulatory EHR modules, aligning system design with provider, nursing, and administrative workflows.
- Lead implementation and support of the MEDITECH Practice Management components, including scheduling, registration, and billing workflows.
- Manage and support the patient portal platform, including initial setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancements to facilitate secure patient communication, appointment scheduling, messaging, and health record access.
- Analyze ambulatory practice workflows to identify process gaps and implement technology-driven improvements that enhance efficiency and care delivery.
- Ensure data integrity, system security, and compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and Joint Commission standards for ambulatory environments.
- Support integration between MEDITECH Ambulatory and enterprise systems, such as revenue cycle platforms, patient engagement tools, and third-party applications (e.g., e-prescribing, lab interfaces, imaging portals).
- Deliver user training and onboarding programs and develop comprehensive documentation to promote system proficiency across clinical and administrative roles.
- Monitor system performance, conduct routine audits, and resolve application-related issues to ensure optimal system functionality.
- Collaborate with practice managers, IT teams, and clinical leadership to continuously refine system functionality and support evolving ambulatory care models.
- Participate in testing and validation activities for upgrades, hotfixes, and new feature rollouts.
- Assist in managing system change control processes and act as a liaison during vendor coordination and project initiatives.
- Support quality reporting workflows within the ambulatory setting, including integration with MIPS, HEDIS, or state-specific registry reporting tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of ambulatory care technology operations.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred).
- Extensive experience with MEDITECH Ambulatory EHR, patient portals, and practice management systems.
- Proven ability to lead implementation projects, conduct training, and drive adoption.
- 3+ years of experience supporting application systems, particularly ambulatory modules.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in ambulatory tools and integration workflows, preferably within MEDITECH Ambulatory and Practice Management systems.
- Strong understanding of clinical documentation, ambulatory care workflows, patient scheduling, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS Meaningful Use, MIPS).
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across clinical, operational, and technical teams.
- Passion for innovation in healthcare technology, with a focus on optimizing patient-centered workflows and digital engagement strategies (e.g., patient portals, messaging).
- Exceptional problem-solving and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, multi-site healthcare environment.
- Experience in patient portal configuration, troubleshooting, and user training to promote patient adoption and satisfaction.
- Familiarity with ambulatory data reporting tools and quality programs (e.g., MIPS, HEDIS), including integration with registry or external reporting systems.
- Working knowledge of HL7 interfaces and third-party integration points (e.g., lab, imaging, e-prescribing, patient education).
