Job Overview:
EHC, Inc. Construction is seeking an experienced GPS Dozer Operator with 3+ years of hands-on experience operating dozers equipped with GPS technology. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy equipment operation, particularly in site preparation, grading, and moving materials for construction projects utilizing advanced GPS systems. This role demands expertise in fine grading, adhering to project specifications, and ensuring that all work is completed on schedule and meets safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate GPS-equipped dozers for precise grading, excavation, and site preparation tasks.
- Follow project specifications and design plans, ensuring that grading and excavation are performed to the correct specifications and tolerances.
- Set up and calibrate GPS equipment for optimal performance and ensure continuous functionality during operations.
- Perform fine grading to meet specific project requirements and ensure smooth transitions between elevations and contours.
- Monitor and adjust GPS settings as needed to maintain accuracy and project timelines.
- Coordinate with project supervisors, foremen, and other team members to ensure all project goals are achieved within the given deadlines.
- Inspect and maintain equipment regularly, addressing any issues before they affect performance.
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Troubleshoot GPS-related issues and work to resolve them promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of work completed, equipment maintenance, and GPS data.
- Assist with material handling, ensuring that materials are moved efficiently and accurately to specified locations on the site.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors or project managers.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating GPS-equipped dozers in construction or earthmoving projects.
- Strong experience with fine grading, material movement, and site preparation.
- Proficient in using GPS technology and software for construction applications (e.g., Trimble, Topcon, Leica).
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and maps.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet project specifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve GPS and machine-related issues effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong commitment to safety, with experience adhering to OSHA and other safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license and relevant certifications (e.g., Heavy Equipment Operator Certification) preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing job site conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with various GPS systems and related technologies (Trimble, Topcon, Leica, etc.).
- Experience with other heavy construction equipment such as graders, excavators, and loaders.
- Familiarity with advanced construction techniques and methods for material handling and grading.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to sit for long periods while operating heavy equipment.
