Job Summary
The PC Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computer hardware, software, and peripherals within a Windows Microsoft environment. This role involves providing excellent customer service, resolving technical issues, and ensuring systems operate efficiently to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware and Software Support: Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows-based desktops, laptops, and peripherals (e.g., printers, scanners).
- Operating System Management: Deploy, update, and maintain Windows operating systems (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 11) and ensure compatibility with enterprise applications.
- Network Connectivity: Diagnose and resolve basic network issues, including LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity in a Windows environment.
- User Support: Provide first-level technical support to end-users, addressing issues via phone, email, or in-person, ensuring timely resolution.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, including software updates, patch management, and hardware upgrades.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of hardware/software inventory, support tickets, and troubleshooting steps.
- Security Compliance: Ensure systems adhere to organizational security policies, including antivirus management and user account administration.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT team members to escalate complex issues and implement IT projects as needed.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in PC support or a similar role in a Windows Microsoft environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with hardware repair and component replacement (e.g., RAM, hard drives, power supplies).
Certifications: CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent certifications preferred.
