Position Summary
The Apartment Leasing Consultant is responsible for leasing apartments, assisting prospective and current residents, and supporting daily leasing and office operations. This role combines customer service, sales, and administrative responsibilities while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing laws and company policies.
Primary Responsibilities
Leasing & Sales
- Greet and assist prospective residents in person, by phone, and online
- Conduct apartment and community tours
- Qualify prospects and present pricing, availability, and lease terms
- Follow up with prospects and close leases to meet occupancy goals
Applications & Documentation
- Process rental applications, screenings, and lease paperwork accurately
- Collect application fees, deposits, and required documentation
- Maintain organized resident and prospect files
Resident Relations
- Provide customer service to current residents
- Assist with move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals
- Respond to resident questions and coordinate service requests with maintenance
Marketing & Office Support
- Maintain leasing office appearance and model units
- Assist with marketing efforts, online listings, and resident events
- Update availability, pricing, and traffic in leasing software
Compliance
- Follow Fair Housing laws and company policies at all times
- Handle confidential information professionally
Qualifications
- 1+ year of multifamily leasing experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Sales-minded with attention to detail
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn property management software
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Full-time
- Weekend availability required
- Ability to stand, walk, and conduct tours throughout the community
