This well-established community pharmacy, located in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach, has served its local and national patient base for more than 15 years. The pharmacy offers a combination of traditional prescription services and advanced compounding capabilities, including customized medications tailored to individual health needs. With licensure in multiple states and a commitment to high standards in both sterile and nonsterile compounding, it plays an important role in providing personalized healthcare solutions to a wide range of patients.
Job Type and Setting:

The role is full-time, on-site, working in a cleanroom/ISO-classified environment.

Monday to Friday schedule (typical day shift)
Key Responsibilities:

Perform and/or supervise the preparation of compounded sterile products (CSPs) in an ISO-classified cleanroom environment.

Ensure full compliance with applicable regulatory standards, including USP <797> (sterile compounding), USP <800> (hazardous drugs) where applicable, state pharmacy laws and relevant clean-room/gowning protocols.

Review medication orders (including for compounded sterile preparations) for accuracy, appropriateness, compatibility, and patient safety (including drug interactions, dosing, etc.).

Maintain and verify compounding records, batch logs, beyond-use dates, lot numbers, expiration dates, environmental monitoring logs, cleaning/maintenance logs.

Oversee or conduct environmental monitoring, perform cleanroom/laminar-flow hood maintenance checks, ensure equipment is calibrated and functioning properly (e.g., laminar hoods, isolators, autoclaves).

Develop, revise, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sterile compounding, garbing, cleaning, disinfection, gowning, and environmental monitoring.

Provide training, competency assessment and oversight of pharmacy technicians and other staff involved in sterile compounding.

Ensure that finished compounded sterile products are properly labelled, packaged, stored and dispensed according to policies and regulations.

Participate in internal audits, inspections, root-cause/corrective action processes to ensure compliance and quality assurance.

Stay up to date with regulatory changes, best practices in aseptic technique, sterile compounding standards, and ensure the compounding environment is continuously maintained for sterility and safety.
Qualifications:

Experience with sterile compounding.

Familiar with USP <797> and <800>.

Perform compounding in ISO-classified environments.

Maintain documentation and assist in cleanroom sanitization.

Experience writing/following SOPs preferred
Work Environment:

This position requires working within ISO-classified cleanrooms and adherence to strict aseptic gowning and sterile technique. Standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights may be required.
