NOVA Engineering is seeking a Geotechnical Technician in our Panama City Beach, FL office. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. No Experience Necessary – Will Train!

This inspector will help with the preliminary evaluation of sites through basic field reconnaissance and soil tests under the direction of engineering professionals to verify the work is performed in accordance with project specifications. With minimal paperwork involved, all inspections/observations and test data is input on smart phones/tablets in the field for immediate transmittal to our Project Managers for review.

Qualifications:

• Some geotechnical/construction experience is preferred but not required. Prior experience in field testing is preferred.
• Ability to learn to read and interpret specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical formulas and concepts to calculate quantities, estimate volumes, make recommendations in the field, and to perform calculations for field and laboratory tests and equipment.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.
• This position is approximately 75% field work.
