APOLLO PAIN MANAGEMENT is a growing health care organization with offices in the Sun City Center and Bradenton. Our focus is on providing patients with advanced, interventional therapies for the improvement of their pain conditions.
We are seeking a Medical Assistant who is a reliable, energetic team-player with exceptional customer service skills, capable of providing an outstanding patient experience. New grads and veterans encouraged to apply.

Employment Type: Full-Time. $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Front Office Responsibilities:
- Check in/out patients, and schedule patient appointments and procedures accordingly per visit type.
- Entry of demographic and insurance information on patient charts.
- Possess a thorough understanding of insurance and perform verification of insurance eligibility.
- Obtain insurance authorization for office visits, medications, and procedures.
- Speak with patients, office staff and providers regarding patient care issues.
- Answer front office specific calls, seeing to it that messages are worked to resolution.
- Assist with miscellaneous administrative duties as required.
Back Office (Medical Assistant) Responsibilities:
- Take patient histories and vital signs, preparing patients for examination and/or procedures.
- Chart and enter data into patient’s electronic record (eClinicalWorks)
- Scan and index documents accurately to patient’s electronic medical records.
- Assist physician with examinations and treatments including selected diagnostic tests.
- Collect, prepare, and send out laboratory specimens, e.g., urine drug screen samples.
- Sterilize medical instruments as appropriate.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by physician.
- Maintains stocks of medicines and medical supplies as necessary.
- Operate fluoroscopy machine during in-office medical procedures. Experience with fluoroscopy a plus!
- Answer back office specific calls, seeing to it that messages are worked.
- Fit patients for braces (back, knee, etc) and complete required paperwork
Other Responsibilities:
- Conduct self in a positive manner and team member.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, vendors, physicians, coworkers, and regulatory agencies.
- Work directly with Physician and/or Office Manager on all aspects of practice operations and workflow.
- Participate in marketing activities and work with vendors and referring physicians as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong ethical and moral character references.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Basic math and spelling skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is imperative.
- E.H.R management skills, preferably versed in eClinicalWorks (eCW); willing to further train suitable candidate.
- Front and/or back medical office experience preferred, especially in pain management.

- Minimum of High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality a must!
