RadiFi Credit Union is seeking an experienced Director of Information Systems to assure delivery of quality enabling business systems, information management and processing services, branching network, and technology infrastructure for Credit Union's internal users and members. Works with executives and line of business managers to identify systems, technology and processes to improve Credit Union services, operations, support and efficiency. Responsible for direction and control of the Credit Union's information systems, security, and technology activities.




Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • LEADERSHIP: Provides leadership across the Credit Union in all matters involving technology and information. Directs the administration of the Information Systems, including budgeting,
    performance monitoring, reporting, planning, priority setting, coaching and staff management/ development.
  • SERVICE DELIVERY AND SUPPORT: Develops and maintains effective and productive working relationships with direct reports, user departments, senior managers, and vendors. Oversee work in-take, assignment, quality assurance and fulfillment among the IS team.
  • STRATEGIC DIRECTION AND PLANNING: Research, develop and implement long-range strategic plans to address the evolving and enabling business systems, technology infrastructure, information management and data processing needs of the Credit Union and its members. Direct and monitor all hardware and software conversion, branch expansions, development, and enhancement projects. Evaluate and implement enhancements to the Credit Union’s array of business systems, ATM network, IVR system, imaging system, TCR systems & network infrastructure.
  • COMMITTEE INVOLVEMENT: Actively participate in Credit Union Information Security Committee, Project Steering Committee and ad hoc project committees. Responsible for Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning for the Credit Union.
  • VENDOR MANAGEMENT: Manages directly or indirectly all technology, information and data processing vendors and prescribes good vendor management practices for all key vendor relationships. Consults with other business leaders on vendor selection, due diligence, contracting and service level agreements.
  • COMPLIANCE: Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, in addition to all credit union-wide policies.
  • TRAINING: To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job; participating in appropriate training activities and required classes when assigned. On time completion of Individual Learning Plan (ILP) as outlined by Training Department. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.


Knowledge and SkillsExperience

Ten to fifteen years of experience in an Information Systems/Information Technology role, including at least five years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role overseeing a an Information Systems team is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience within a credit union or financial institution is needed.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

(1) A bachelor's degree, (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree), or (3) substantial job-specific skills gained through relevant work experience. Degree preferred in Information Technology, Computer Science or Information Technology.

Interpersonal Skills

Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. Role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the role and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position.

Other Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of hardware systems, system software, networks, and application software is needed. Along with previous data processing experience including networks, PCs, data communications, mainframe and PC programming, and data organization.
  • Technical planning, project management and supervisory experience.
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills are required.
  • Ability to discuss technical issues effectively with other data processing professionals as well as non-technical users.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work and travel independently and use general office equipment, give speeches and make presentations.
  • Manage working deadlines through delegation.
  • Previous financial institution and or core banking software experience.
  • Must have excellent resource project planning, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work and travel independently and use general office equipment.
  • Must possess leadership skills and be an effective leader.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
