Medication Refill Specialist

Wage: $17.50/hr
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Medical Terminology Knowledge required
Medical Office Experience required
Pharmaceutical Knowledge preferred
Responsibilities:

Check incoming messages board (Dash) and reply, or complete, the tasks as required. This may be for medications, messages for medical assistants, electronic prescription, etc.

Assist with sorting incoming faxes by provider name for distribution throughout the day.

Complete Electronic Medical Record prescriptions (escribing)

Escribe prescriptions from providers as needed to patient pharmacies from visits taking place in office through the current day.

Use phone etiquette to contact patients, pharmacies, and outside companies.

Additional non-clinical medical assistant department duties as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting of patients, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.

Requires sitting for extensive periods of time

Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds

Requires corrected vision, hearing, and speech within normal ranges

Requires working under stressful conditions
