The responsibility of the estimator is to propose our professional recommendation in a formal proposal. If it’s either to replace the defective part/s along with necessary materials to complete the work or recommend replacing the system. “There is always a solution”
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering work orders, repair reports, tech notes, and supplier/manufacturer pricing with lead times.
- Maintains contact and relationships with property managers, chief engineers, board members, sub-contractors, vendors, manufacturers and other organizations.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements for all service-related inquiries.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements for proposals.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information from past similar experiences/jobs and asking certain questions to technicians on site.
- Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Compare estimates and brands from vendors for product cost, availability, based on customer needs.
- Directionally adjust and revise proposals to what the customer needs and expects.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- Pull reports on a weekly basis and communicate with end users for follow ups and job progress.
- Continually updates technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Receives and ships products/materials from the warehouse and operates forklift.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, nomenclatures, and building schedules.
- Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and word processing programs.
