Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Position Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Location: Miami, Florida
Schedule: Full-Time | Mixed Shifts (Rotating Weekends)
Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with professional practice standards and state regulations. This role performs diagnostic testing, therapeutic interventions, and manages patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation in an acute care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive respiratory assessments
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate patient need for respiratory therapy
- Administer respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy
- Assist with placement and maintenance of artificial airways
- Initiate, monitor, and manage mechanical ventilation
- Monitor patient response to therapy and intervene appropriately
- Assist with transport of ventilator-dependent patients
- Respond to emergent patient situations, including resuscitation events
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Vocational School Graduate in Respiratory Care
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/RCP) credential
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date if not current
- Strong critical thinking, clinical, and communication skills
