CNC Programmer
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Position Summary
We are a contract manufacturer/job shop actively seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with strong engineering and design knowledge. This role supports mechanical structures, components, and assemblies using SolidWorks CAD and solid modeling. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and collaborates closely with shop floor and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify customer-supplied design requirements
- CNC programming for machining operations
- Design tooling and fixturing and modify existing designs as needed
- Select appropriate materials and fasteners for designs
- Develop conceptual and final mechanical designs
- Provide limited engineering support to the manufacturing floor
- Collaborate daily with shop floor management to improve processes and eliminate waste
- Work with vendors, customers, and suppliers to reduce costs, improve material availability, and increase throughput
- Partner with purchasing, sourcing, and quality teams to support manufacturing objectives
Required & Preferred Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Strong working knowledge of 3D modeling and drafting per ANSI Y14.100 using SolidWorks 2012 or later
- Experience with CNC programming in a machine shop environment
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and product specifications
- Knowledge of typical machine shop operations
- Simulation and manufacturing experience a plus
- Practical knowledge of MIG and TIG welding concepts (not as a welder); understanding weld symbols is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
