About the Role:

The Maintenance Control Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the Maintenance Control Center team, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the airline’s fleet. This position involves coordinating and managing aircraft maintenance activities, handling technical issues, and collaborating with various departments to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or a related field.
  • Experience with maintenance tracking software and data analysis.
  • Leadership training or certification.

Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Supervision:

  • Lead and supervise the Maintenance Control Center team.
  • Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on procedures and regulations.

2. Maintenance Control Operations:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel, flight crews, and other departments to address and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Manage the allocation of resources to handle aircraft discrepancies and unscheduled maintenance events.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication of aircraft status and maintenance activities.

3. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay current with aviation regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and industry standards.
  • Implement and enforce procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.

4. Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with Dispatch, Flight Operations, and other departments to optimize aircraft availability while maintaining safety and compliance.
  • Work closely with Maintenance Planning to optimize maintenance schedules and minimize operational disruptions.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of aircraft discrepancies, maintenance actions, and operational events.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.

6. Resource Management:

  • Manage resources efficiently to meet operational demands.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and allocate tasks based on team members’ expertise.
  • Coordinate with external maintenance providers when necessary.

7. Decision-Making:

  • Make informed decisions regarding aircraft maintenance, considering safety, regulatory compliance, and operational requirements.

8. Training and Development:

  • Facilitate ongoing training and development programs for Maintenance Control Center staff.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professionalism within the team.

9. Emergency Response:

  • Contribute to emergency response planning and coordination.
  • Provide leadership and support during critical situations.

10. Communication:

  • Ensure effective communication within the Maintenance Control Center and with other relevant departments.
  • Facilitate communication between team members, ensuring a collaborative and efficient working environment.
