Overview
We are a new and small outpatient Internal Medicine Clinic in Ocoee FL. We are seeking a dedicated, adaptable and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our small medical facility team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role requires proficiency in medical terminology, experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems (preferably e-Clinical Works), and a strong understanding of medical billing and coding practices. Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the clinic.
- Manage multi-line phone systems, answering calls promptly and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently while considering provider availability and patient needs.
- Verify insurance information and perform insurance verification for all patients.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy before filing in patient charts.
- Prefer someone with experience and knowledge of ECW (e-Clinical Works) EMR system
- Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and maintaining office supplies.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding care plans, services offered, and other administrative concerns.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
- Adaptable to be able to fill in for the Medical Assistant if and when is needed and be able to process referrals and Prior Authorizations at times if needed (On site training will be provided)
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Front Desk Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and CPT coding is essential.
- Familiarity with EHR systems in particular eClinicalWorks is highly desirable.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Experience with health information management and understanding of Medicare processes is beneficial.
