A healthcare facility in Cape Coral, FL is seeking an experienced inpatient pharmacist for an interim overnight position. This contract role offers a 7 on, 7 off rotation schedule, providing work-life balance and flexibility. The assignment begins on August 30 and spans 12 weeks, with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders and ensure accurate dispensing during overnight hours
- Supervise pharmacy technician activities including IV mixing and medication request management
- Collaborate with health staff using EPIC order entry and Omnicell automation systems
- Maintain compliance with safety and procedural protocols in a hospital setting
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist in Florida with inpatient pharmacy experience
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records preferred
- Comfortable working independently during overnight shifts
- Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians effectively
- Adaptability to learn automated dispensing systems such as Omnicell
Schedule:
- Overnight shift: 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Wednesday through Tuesday
- 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
Additional Details:
- Work alongside one pharmacist and one technician per overnight shift
- Dress code includes teal scrubs or professional attire with a white coat
- Orientation includes a minimum of one 7-night training stretch, depending on experience
- Utilize Omnicell cabinets and robotic technology with on-site training available
