Shop)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our precision machine shop. The

CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling and turning centers to

produce complex, tight-tolerance parts. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on machining skills,

experience with both 3-axis and 5-axis machines, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

This role requires a focus on efficiency, quality, and collaboration with programmers, QC, and production staff.

Key Responsibilities

bullet Set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines to produce high-precision parts.

bullet Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD requirements, and setup instructions.

bullet Perform machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as required.

bullet Verify first-part quality and perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools.

bullet Work closely with CNC Programmers and QC Inspectors to ensure parts meet dimensional and cosmetic

requirements.

bullet Troubleshoot machining issues, improve processes, and reduce setup and cycle times.

bullet Maintain equipment, tooling, and work area in a clean and organized condition.

bullet Follow all safety procedures and adhere to company quality standards.

bullet Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to machining efficiency, quality, and tooling.

Qualifications

bullet 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision machine shop (aerospace, defense, or medical

industry experience preferred).

bullet Proficiency in operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines; turning experience a plus.

bullet Strong knowledge of machining practices, speeds/feeds, and tooling selection.

bullet Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD

bullet Skilled in using precision inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gauges, etc.).

bullet Basic knowledge of G-code and machine controls (Fanuc, Hurco, or Mazak preferred).

bullet Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

bullet Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

bullet ERP system experience (Fulcrum or similar) a plus.
