Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support a pediatric outpatient clinic serving school-aged children in a K-12 school setting. Located in Tavernier, FL, this full-year contract position provides a structured, supportive work environment focused on outpatient speech therapy without travel requirements.
The role involves working with children aged 2 to 18, primarily addressing mild to moderate speech and language delays. Caseloads typically include pragmatic skills, receptive and expressive language, reading and writing delays, articulation, and high-functioning autism. The clinic environment is low-stress, seeing approximately one child per hour with a one-hour lunch break.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
- Provide individualized therapy plans targeting communication skills that include pragmatics, language comprehension and expression, articulation, and related challenges.
- Work closely with children in an outpatient clinic setting, ensuring therapeutic goals are met.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and progress.
- Collaborate with educational staff to support student communication needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified or licensed Speech Language Pathology Assistant with experience in school and healthcare settings.
- Comfort working with pediatric outpatient populations and school-aged children.
- Knowledge of speech and language disorders, autism spectrum challenges, and therapeutic interventions.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
