Seeking a skilled Manual Machinist who is proficient in the set-up and operation of manual mills, manual lathes, punch press, drill press, tapping machine, saws, etc. Fabricate machined parts, molds, jigs and fixtures to blueprint specifications. Some experience working on CNC Mills and Lathes also required. Knowledge of g-code with Fanuc controls.
- Minimum 6+ years of on-the-job experience in the set-up, tool selection, operation and maintenance of manual mills and manual lathes, drill press, punch press, tapping machine, band saws, shears, pneumatic drills, pneumatic die grinders, belt sanders, jig borers
- Minimum 2 years experience in set-up, operation, programming and/or editing of CNC g-code programs
- Interpret blueprints, develop a plan, perform equipment set-up and all required operations to produce a final quality part
- Perform quality inspection of finished part to ensure it meets all requirements
- Working knowledge of precision measuring tools such as calipers, OD & ID micrometers and depth micrometers
- Knowledge of metal properties and other material
- Understand principles such as machining forces, feeds and speeds, tool load, chip thinning, blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and fixture design
- Industry related math skills; basic trigonometry, geometry or algebra
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications
- Appropriate verbal and written communication skills
- Great mechanical aptitude, excellent manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail and accuracy
- Responsible for own work; able to work independently, self-motivated
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Use all shop equipment in a safe manner
