Job Description

If you are a recent law school graduate OR you are graduating in May...we would love for you to consider joining our dynamic firm.

We are seeking an attorney to assist us with a docket involving Defense Base Act claims. This practice involves providing legal analysis, the drafting of petitions, and communication with clients, the Department of Labor and opposing counsel in these matters. Organizational skills, attention to detail and communication skills are essential. Review, analyze and summarize claims documents including medical records, incident reports, and employment files Complete legal analysis of files to determine likelihood of recovery, recoverable amounts, identification of additional documentation necessary for recovery Participate in conferences with the Department of Labor to address issues pertinent to the resolution of files Communicate clearly and concisely with clients on issues involving the Defense Base Act and the War Hazards Compensation Act Manage and prioritize legal assignments to insure all tasks are completed Contact and communicate with opposing counsel to resolve underlying aspect of Defense Base Act claims.
