Job Description:
Taylor Nelson PL is a multi-office, national transportation and logistics law firm with an immediate opening for a full-time Senior Paralegal in the South Florida area. The Senior Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; assist with interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation. Note this position will start as remote; once the office is opened this will be a hybrid position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support litigation practice and specialty dispute practices
Know and maintain files
Work with attorneys to monitor and follow up with clients, keep work flowing forward
Delegate administrative tasks and calendaring to staff when possible
Willingness to understand the business of transportation and how to support our clients
Assist multiple attorneys with litigated, non-litigated, corporate, and administrative proceeding matters throughout the State of Florida and elsewhere.
Contribute to special projects and initiatives.
Assist with daily tasks and filings.
Create tasks and calendar notifications, with reminders, for appointments and court deadlines.
Keep document storage software organized and set an example for others. Take charge of organization at all levels.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
At least 15+ years experience in paralegal work
Associate degree in Paralegal Studies, Business, or related field preferred, Bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
Paralegal certificate a plus.
Civil litigation experience required.
