Position Summary:
AAA, United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Stuart, Florida that is a leading global aerospace manufacturer that specializes in the design and production of aircraft, aerospace equipment, and systems. With a rich heritage dating back to 1863, they are committed to delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the aerospace industry. We are looking for experienced Tool & Die Maker, Level 1 who are seeking their next opportunity in a complex and ever-changing work environment!
Job Description:
- The Tool Maker Associate executes all work assigned by the team lead. Primary job will be the creation and maintenance of production support products including transportation dollies, product shipping fixtures, scaffolding and platforms.
- Utilizes their conceptual skills to help generate valid fabrication plans for the work assigned to them. The work includes cutting materials, fitting, welding, using adhesives to bond material and material preparation for the manufacturing and shipping process.
- Demonstrates a good mechanical aptitude.
- Responsible for understanding the budget hours provided by the team lead to accurately and consistently complete repetitive tasks
- Basic layout. Use precision measuring instruments, calipers, square, etc.
- Set-ups and operates some machine tools to perform completely and independently specific operations as instructed.
- Works effectively as a team member; work with little supervision; help when and where needed; make suggestions for process and product improvement
- Safely and responsibly setup and operates a variety of machines and tools. Use of hand, bench and standalone metal processing equipment including, but not limited to, welders (aluminum and steel), Sanders, Drills, Grinders, Die grinders, Cutoff saws, Manual sheet metal breaks, Sheet metal rolls, Shearing equipment, Table saws, etc.
- Welding, Fitting, and basic conceptual and shop drawing interpretation
- Works scheduled hours and overtime when necessary.
- Willing to work in any manufacturing department
- Performs other duties as needed to meet customer expectations.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to company policy for safe work practices. Uses the required PPE for all hazardous practices and materials used in the course of the work.
- Responsible for maintaining housekeeping responsibilities as set forth by Management.
- Able to machine tools to perform completely and independently specific operations as instructed.
- Able to fabricate basic detailed and assembly components using prints and/or other specifications both oral and written.
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or accredited GED
- 0 – 2 years of experience
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Current or previous successful metal fabrication experience strongly preferred
- Welding experience strongly preferred
- Basic computer skills preferred
