Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant for its client's Miami office.
Our law firm client in Miami is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant with demonstrated e-filing experience in both state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and the ability to manage case documents with accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate and timely e-filing of legal documents in Florida state courts (via Florida Courts E-Filing Portal) and federal courts.
- Prepare, revise, and format pleadings, motions, discovery responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and legal memoranda
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files, including document indexing and file management in document management systems
- Calendar court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and case-related events using firm-approved software
- Communicate professionally with court clerks, opposing counsel, clients, and internal teams
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit lists, witness lists, and trial binders
- Coordinate attorney travel, depositions, meetings, and other case-related logistics
- Process attorney time entries, expense reports, and billing documentation as needed
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm setting
- Proven experience with e-filing in both Florida state and federal courts
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal court rules and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF editing tools, and legal document management systems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize under pressure
- Professional demeanor and strong written/verbal communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
