**Overview**
We are in search of compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide exceptional in-home care for male clients with special needs. Specifically, we need assistance for a client with Cerebral Palsy who is wheelchair-bound, requiring up to 18 hours of support per week. The ideal candidate should possess a high level of patience, attentiveness, and a nurturing disposition, as the role involves assisting clients with essential daily living activities. This position requires creating a safe, supportive, and respectful environment while collaborating closely with the family to meet the individual's needs effectively.
**Case Details**
- **Case #1: ** A 36-year-old male client with Autism located in the Central Park area needs assistance 16 hours weekly over two designated days.
- **Case #2: ** A male client in a traditional neighborhood seeking support for 8 hours across two weekdays.
**Duties**
- Provide personal care support, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and feeding, ensuring the client’s dignity and comfort at all times.
- Assist with mobility, including safe transfers, positioning, and supporting physical movement to promote mobility and independence.
- Facilitate communication and sensory activities tailored to the client's needs, encouraging autonomy while promoting skill development.
- Closely monitor the client’s health status, reporting any significant changes or concerns promptly to family members or medical professionals.
- Offer companionship and engage the client in meaningful recreational activities that foster social interaction and enhance emotional well-being.
- Support cognitive engagement through memory care activities, aimed at stimulating cognitive functions and promoting mental agility.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties as required.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure the highest level of client confidentiality and respect their privacy at all times.
**Experience Requirements**
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly those with cerebral palsy, is strongly preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are mandatory.
- Capable of lifting and assisting clients with physical mobility challenges.
- Must be patient, empathetic, and reliable, with strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and their families.
- A clean background check is required, along with any necessary caregiving certifications. Experience with medical equipment and therapy modalities is a valuable asset.
