Swim Instructor (Part-Time)
Location: Lake Nona, Orlando, FL
Pay: $15/hour
Hours: Up to 30 hours per week (afternoons, evenings, and weekends required)

British Swim School is Orlandos premier swim school, teaching water survival skills and swimming techniques to children and adults of all ages. Position Summary:


As a Swim Instructor, youll lead structured, engaging lessons based on the proven British Swim School curriculum. Youll teach life-saving water safety skills, stroke development, and confidencewhile having fun and building relationships with students and families.

Key Responsibilities:


Swim Instruction

  • Teach students ages 3 months to adult using the British Swim School curriculum

  • Lead small group or private lessons in a warm, indoor pool

  • Modify teaching techniques to meet individual student needs

  • Ensure all swimmers are engaged, safe, and progressing at their own pace

  • Encourage, praise, and communicate progress to students and parents

Pre-Lesson Setup & Post-Lesson Wrap-Up

  • Set up and organize teaching tools and safety gear before each lesson

  • Sanitize shared swim equipment between uses (kickboards, rings, toys, etc.)

  • Check lesson rosters and review any student notes prior to class

  • Clean up pool gear and return equipment to proper storage after each shift

Safety & Facility Awareness

  • Keep the pool deck clean, organized, and free of hazards

  • Follow and enforce all safety procedures and emergency protocols

  • Communicate any incidents, injuries, or issues to the Aquatics Manager immediately

  • Remain attentive and focused on student supervision at all times

Qualifications:


  • Energetic, dependable, and confident working with young children

  • Strong communication skills and a patient, positive attitude

  • Comfortable in the water and willing to complete paid training

  • Previous experience teaching or working with children preferred

  • CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard Certification (or willing to obtain through us)

  • Able to work a flexible part-time schedule including evenings and weekends
