Job DescriptionDescription:

We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Orthopedic Spine Surgical Coordinator to join our group! The responsibilities include scheduling patients for surgery at the respective location, obtain medical clearance as requested by the surgeon, coordinate with facilities and vendors, obtain authorization for surgery, tracking all procedures ordered, performed, and cancelled, arranging home health care post operatively as needed, and confirming all items are in place prior to surgery. The Surgical Coordinator will also scan and file all paperwork including finalized operative report associated with the surgery into the EHR.

To be a successful Surgical Coordinator, you should be organized, detail-oriented and meticulous. You should have excellent typing and computer skills, as well as strong communication and customer service skills. Must be professional and have patience and empathy working with surgical patients.


Responsibilities:

  • Experienced in Orthopedic Spine Surgery coordination - 5 plus years
  • Answering telephones and emails as well as common questions about surgical scheduling appropriately and timely.
  • Have thorough knowledge of participating plans and out of network benefits for surgery.
  • Inputting all information in the Practice Management system in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining an organized system to ensure all surgeries and home health orders are tracked.
  • Obtaining medical records from other facilities, office, and hospitals for pre op.
  • Sending out requested medical records according to HIPPA guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with surgical coordinating for Ortho Spine
  • Excellent computer, telephone, and typing skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records, and medical coding.

Job Type: Full-time - Remote

Monday - Friday 8:30 -5:00


Requirements:

Qualifications:


Education: Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Some employers may prefer candidates with an associate or bachelor's degree, particularly in healthcare administration or a related field.


Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a surgical or medical office environment, is often preferred. Experience with scheduling, patient coordination, or medical billing can be advantageous.


Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and paperwork efficiently.


Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and administrative staff.


Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy in documentation, scheduling, and patient information management.


Medical Knowledge: Basic understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and healthcare regulations is beneficial.


EMR - EClinical Works and IQueue surgical scheduling platforms not required but helpful. Must be organized, proficient in Outlook.
