Job DescriptionField Shade Structure Installers
Industrial Shadeports is seeking dependable and motivated individuals to join our team as Field Shade Structure Installers. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and installing a variety of outdoor shade structures at client sites, including but not limited to fabric canopies, steel frame structures, and tension shade systems. This is a physically demanding role that requires construction knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently outdoors in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and install shade structures according to blueprints, engineering specs, and installation guidelines
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment (e.g., lifts, ladders, scaffolding) safely and effectively
  • Dig holes, pour concrete, and secure footings as needed for structure installation
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical instructions
  • Load, transport, and unload materials and equipment to job sites
  • Ensure all work is completed according to safety standards and local building codes
  • Maintain a clean and organized work site
  • Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and site contacts
  • Troubleshoot issues during installation and report problems or delays promptly


Qualifications:Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physically strenuous tasks for extended periods
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites, sometimes staying overnight
  • Basic knowledge of construction practices and power tools
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, wind)


Preferred:

  • Prior experience in construction, outdoor installations, or shade structure assembly
  • Forklift or lift certification (e.g., boom lift, scissor lift)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification



Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor work environment; exposure to sun, wind, rain, and dust
  • Travel required to job sites, which may be out of town or overnight
  • Work hours may vary depending on the season and project schedule
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and boots is mandatory
