Job Title: Spray Technician
Department: Golf Course Maintenance
Reports To: Director of Golf Course Maintenance, Superintendent

SUMMARY

The Spray Technician is responsible for the safe and effective application of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers to maintain the health and aesthetics of turfgrass and ornamental plants on the golf course. This role involves routine scouting, equipment calibration, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pest and Turf Management: Scout for stress development and identify pests affecting turfgrass and ornamentals. Apply pest control products in strict accordance with label instructions and supervisor directives.

  • Chemical Application: Safely apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers using various equipment, ensuring accurate calibration and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate all application equipment, including sprayers and spreaders, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all plant protectant applications, including dates, rates, and areas treated.

  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations for the application and disposal of chemicals. Maintain the cleanliness of the pesticide building and ensure compliance with county, state, and federal regulations.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain chemical inventory, ensuring proper storage and handling of all products.

  • Emergency Response: Report and treat any spills immediately, cleaning up spills in strict accordance with label directions.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance team to coordinate tasks and ensure the golf course is maintained to the highest standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensing: Must maintain a current commercial pesticide applicator’s license.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in golf course maintenance or a related field.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to operate and maintain application equipment, and knowledge of turfgrass management practices

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.

  • Language Skills: Good spoken and written English skills.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Conditions: Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards.

  • Noise Level: Moderate to loud.

  • Schedule: Must be available to work weekends and holidays..

Frenchman’s Creek Beach & Country Club is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Executive Steward to lead our stewarding team and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization throughout all kitchen and food service areas. The Executive Steward will play a key leadership role in maintaining kitchen hygiene, managing stewarding staff, overseeing banquet setups, and ensuring proper handling and maintenance of all service equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and train a team of stewards to uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Ensure all kitchen areas, including equipment, dishwashing stations, hoods, floors, and trash areas, are cleaned daily.

Maintain proper inventory and organization of China, glassware, silverware, and kitchen equipment.

Support banquet operations, including setup and breakdown of functions, and ensure availability of small wares.

Prepare weekly schedules, daily payroll edits, and manage departmental budgets.

Enforce health, hygiene, and safety protocols in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Collaborate with the Executive Chef, Banquet Chef, and F&B Director to coordinate stewarding support for culinary operations.

Conduct hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of stewarding staff and leadership team.

Manage preventative maintenance and sanitation procedures for all culinary equipment.

Lead pest control measures and enforce standards to reduce waste and theft.

Attend operational meetings including BEO, safety, and F&B meetings as required.

Maintain accurate inventories and approve contract labor invoices.

Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a stewarding leadership role at a luxury private club, high-end resort, or Four- or Five-Diamond property.

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of sanitation procedures, cleaning chemicals, PPE, kitchen equipment, and stewarding operations.

Skills:

Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Comfortable with mathematical reasoning and basic calculations

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
